Ribblesdale School is seeking a highly motivated and reliable technician to support the work of the Technology Department. The successful candidate will be based at the secondary provision and will provide practical and some administrative support to the technology department, across the whole age range of the through school.

The person appointed will assist teachers in the preparation and maintenance of teaching resources and specialised equipment for pupils. This includes overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of two fully functioning design technology workshops and a newly refurbished food demonstration and graphic design studio at the secondary site, ensuring all rooms comply with health and safety standards.

In time, the technician will also support in the maintenance of the multifunctional design technology room at our brand-new primary site and support primary staff in delivering design technology activities for our younger pupils.

The role does require a DATA machine training qualification, however full training will be provided for a successful candidate who does not yet hold this qualification. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge of CAD CAM, as a part of this role involves running and maintaining our laser cutters and 3D printers.

The successful candidate will be working across all disciplines of design technology alongside another technician and should be eager to learn and develop skills in all areas of the subject.
