Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care at Ribblesdale

The health and social care curriculum explores the way people grow and develop throughout their lives, the factors which may affect this and the ways in which people may adapt to these changes. Pupils learn about the different care-giving services which exist and are encouraged to develop care-values and demonstrate them practically. They also learn how to analyse and evaluate data and use this to plan care provision effectively to improve health and wellbeing. The study of health and social care at Ribblesdale provides pupils with a detailed understanding of the health and social care sector, builds transferable skills and knowledge, such as self-evaluation and research skills, and complements pupils’ studies in other subjects such as biology, RE and PSHCE.
