Educational Technology
Ribblesdale has been a successful Microsoft Showcase School for many years and we are proud to have been awarded Showcase School status for another year. Every year, our application demonstrates our development with digital technologies. We use EdTech to successfully enhance teaching, reduce workload and create efficiencies, prepare future learners and ensure a modern learning environment. Edtech is used as an additional tool, to provide a balanced mix of traditional and 21st century curriculum delivery across the school. This not only helps pupils achieve their best academically, but also helps to prepare them for a life beyond Ribblesdale, giving them skills for the future.
Teachers at Ribblesdale are committed to the digital transformation journey. We provide bespoke CPD opportunities to support and build skills with technology for education so they can deliver their curriculums confidently and creatively. Developing pupils’ technological literacy is important to creating 21st century learners who can confidently access these curriculums.
Our work with external EdTech companies, including Microsoft, also creates opportunities for staff development. Many of our teachers have obtained Microsoft’s Educator Expert and Certified Expert accreditations and have become part of a national community of EdTech practitioners.
As a school, we are ‘outward facing’ and have supported a number of schools across the country with their own digital transformations, both through the Microsoft Showcase School’s programme and as part of the North West EdTech Hub. As the lead school within the North West EdTech Hub, we work with like-minded colleagues to ensure Edtech effectively supports teaching and learning,
and wider school functions. What we do at Ribblesdale is showcased and shared on a local, regional and national level!
