Teaching Assistant
We are seeking to enhance our school support team through the appointment of a Teaching Assistant who will contribute to the pastoral care and academic support we provide for all our pupils. The primary provision at Ribblesdale School opened in September 2023 and we currently have classes in EYFS and Year 1. The successful candidate will be experienced in working with younger children with additional needs and would have the ability and willingness to support pupils with communication and interaction needs on a one-to-one and small group basis.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with our teachers and other support staff to ensure that the personal, social and learning needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs, are met. Our Teaching Assistants establish positive, supportive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, school staff and governors and the wider community, contributing ideas and strategies for the benefit of our pupils. They assist with the planning, delivery and evaluation of the curriculum, ensuring that high-quality learning experiences are accessed by all.
As a Teaching Assistant at Ribblesdale, you will:
- Deliver learning activities for individuals and groups across EYFS and KS1, both within the classroom, one-to-one and as small group withdrawal sessions
- Engage in training to enable you to make optimal use of educational technology to support pupils’ learning
- Support subject specialist teachers in making the curriculum accessible to all learners and in implementing quality first teaching strategies.
The closing date for applications is 9.00 am on Monday 6th January 2025.
Interviews to be held on Friday 10th January 2025.
Cover Supervisor
We are offering an exceptional opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join our large, vibrant and well-established team working in the heart of Lancashire’s Ribble Valley. You will join us at an exciting and seminal time in our rich 90-year history, with the recent opening of our primary phase seeing us begin our journey as an all-through school for pupils aged 4 - 16.
The successful candidate will cover short-term staff absence across a range of subjects at our secondary site and will need to be confident, flexible and able to deliver work which has been set by the usual classroom teacher. You must have good behaviour management skills, the ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staff and the ability to supervise a classroom effectively, ensuring that pupils work productively and stay on task.
Excellent numeracy, literacy, interpersonal and organisational skills are essential to this role. If you are energetic, resilient and committed to the wellbeing and education of young people and you thrive on teamwork and making a real difference, this could be the role for you!
