Year 7 Cheerathon Fund Raising
Year 7 pupils at Ribblesdale High School have been trying something different as part of a new “House System” aimed at encouraging competition throughout the year. Earlier in the year pupils were asked to come up with house names and the most popular were places in the local area. There are 5 Houses- Waddington, Mitton, Edisford, Chatburn and Downham and each house was invited to take part in a “Cheerathon” where they were challenged to try cheerleading for the first time to try and set a school record for the most pupils cheerleading in the sports hall, all at the same time! A fantastic 195 girls and boys pupils took up the challenge and they were asked to get sponsored for the event to raise money for Ribblesdale’s highly successful cheerleading squad who now compete all over the North West.
