In July just over 750 Ribblesdale pupils, in Years 8, 9 and 10 took part in a 7 1/2 mile walk around Clitheroe and along the River Ribble to Grindleton before walking back down the opposite side coming out at Brungerley Bridge, before walking back through Clitheroe to school.

Before the walk took place, pupils were asked to vote for two local charities and Pendleside Hospice in Brierfield and Ribble Valley Crossroads Care in Clitheroe were the chosen recipients. Throughout September and October all sponsor money was collected in and a grand total of £4586 was raised altogether. This is a record amount in the history of the walk and is one of the largest amounts ever raised from any charity event at the school. Walk organiser, Miss Dawn Robinson was overwhelmed by the efforts of the pupils who all conducted themselves brilliantly on the day itself and had a very calm and relaxing day off timetable.
A number of pupils raised some fantastic individual totals and have been recognised in their recent house assemblies with bonus house points and trophies for their efforts. They have also been invited to Ribble Valley Crossroads Care to see how their money will be spent. Congratulations to the following pupils for their efforts:
