Year 10 English School’s Football Final

Year 10 Football

The incredible run has finally come to an end for the Year 10 footballers from Ribblesdale. After conquering the North of England the locals came unstuck against The Oasis Academy Shirley Park from Croydon, London.

Expectations were high going into the final of the English School Under-15 cup and with an unbeaten run stretching back 14 months the local boys were brimming with confidence. Looking resplendent in their new green and white kit the game kicked off in the superb surroundings of Pride Park, the home of Derby County FC. Cheered on by around 250 fellow pupils who had travelled down on coaches supplied by the school it was Oasis Academy who started the brightest. Packed with Crystal Palace Academy players from the highly successful link the school has with the professional outfit it was clear to see the difficulty of the task facing our boys.
