Ribblesdale Cheerathon

On Friday 3rd February, Ribblesdale went cheer crazy when 195 pupils took part in the school’s first ever House cheerathon competition in the sportshall. All pupils took part in a 10 minute warm led by Miss Robinson, where they were shown the different cheerleading moves before she taught them all a cheer dance to Katy Perry’s Firework.

To fully prepare the week before coaching groups were encouraged to bring in carrier bags to make pom poms to use on competition day. Members of staff including Miss Arcangelo, Mrs Taylor, Ms Gillespee, Nr Newton, Mr Hartley and Ms Haliday along with Miss Robinson and Ms Cooper strutted their stuff to encourage the 5 houses before a final perfomance by each House.

Edisford were the overall winners although every house performed to an excellent standard. Each member of Edisford that took part will receive house points. Ten pupils were also identified as performing particularly enthusiastically on the day and these pupils will receive house points and chocolate in a special assembly. They were:
