The Big Quiz!

At the start of this school year, year 7 and 8 pupils were organised into house teams as an attempt to improve their academic progress and competitive spirit. Each week, pupils have been taking part in a weekly quiz in their coaching groups which have been subject based with the aim of boosting the house points system and consolidating their current learning.

During the last week of the autumn term, a team of pupils from each house was created in order to take part in a Big Quiz. Each house was encouraged to design banners and chants to support their quiz teams, who took their place on stage with quiz master, Mr Barker, testing their knowledge.

Both the year 7 and year 8 Big Quizzes were enjoyed by all and the participants of each showed themselves to be confident and competitive throughout, not to mention the competitiveness of the observing pupils, which was certainly commendable!

After battling through four rounds and finally reaching the final, it seemed that Downham were unbeatable. The quiz teams from Downham were victorious for year 7 and year 8 and a great afternoon was had by all.
