History Theatre Trip

Year 8 History Theatre Trip to Manchester Opera House on Tuesday 3rd November 2009.  This was a successful event.  70 pupils went along to see the Horrible Histories Production of The Frightful First World War.  A young girl called Angelica found herself in the scenes of the First World War in search of her friend who had joined up as a young boy.  The event was both a humourous and serious outlook on the First World War.  The highlight of the evening was the 3D effects.  The audience were given glasses to watch part of the show in 3D giving the effect that rats. lice and shrapnel were attacking the audience.  At the end of the show through the glasses people could see poppies falling to commemorate the soldiers.
