Visualize win East Lancashire Final
Ribblesdale’s Young Enterprise team Visualize have won the East Lancashire Final where they will now proceed to the North West Final.
This will take place at Aintree. They will compete against the winners from West Lancashire; Merseyside; Greater Manchester; Cumbria and Cheshire. This is the tenth time in twelve years that Ribblesdale has done this. Surely a remarkable achievement! We have produced a DVD promoting Ribble Valley tourism; a children’s height chart and a leavers’ book for year 11. We also won an award for the best business plan and final company report. Charlotte Child won the East Lancashire achiever of the year award and will now compete in the North West Final as well.

Rebecca Smethurst a Year 8 pupil recently competed in the Bradford Open Skating Championship. Rebecca skated against 18 others in the Level 2 Ladies (12 years and over) category and was awarded 2nd place.
This is great achievement for Rebecca who only took up skating 3 years ago.

8G T-shirts
The 8G Coaching Group has designed a set of T-Shirts based on work they have been doing in coaching and linked this with a Friendship and Fashion Project-’This is Us’ , organised by the National Schools’ Partnership. They have selected models, music and choreographed a routine to promote the Tshirts to Year 8 pupils. The T-Shirts are being sold as limited edition designs to Year 8, at a cost of £6.00 and all monies raised will go to charity. The T-Shirts can be worn for PE, this summer Term, in school and will make a great memento of their time at Ribblesdale. 8G hope that you will support their Charity Event and buy a T-Shirt using the Order Form already handed out in school. Thank you.
Please remember, orders have to be handed in at reception by Thursday the 14th May 2009!
